The “DOT” Program

The “DOT” Program, as it is known, serves the mobility-impaired residents of Alexandria who are unable to use public transportation. Both taxi and van transportation are available, and there is no age limit.

To qualify, applicants must request an application from Senior Services of Alexandria or at the City of Alexandria's Transportation Office at 703-746-4079. Once approved, applicants can contact SSA to make a reservation at 703-836-5222.

**Please note that the application process to this program requires a confirmation of the potential client's medical condition from a board certified doctor and the process can take up to 30 days to complete.

DOT reservationists are available through Senior Services of Alexandria Sunday through Saturday (7 days per week) from 8:30am to 4:30 pm.

Travel within Alexandria and all of Fairfax County is included.

Medical appointments

Theatre

Libraries

Grocery store

Movies

Visit friends
