Employment Everyone is the same age on the inside.
Senior Services has been serving Seniors 55 and over since 1968. It was founded to address the age discrimination taking place in area businesses. SSA observed that in layoffs, the higher paid senior was often "the first to go" and the most likely to encounter discrimination when seeking employment. SSA's goal is to ensure that seniors with skills, experience, knowledge, and the desire to work are afforded opportunities to do so through employment counseling and referral to interested employers. Seniors seek employment for various reasons, most often financial ones. Other reasons can be a desire to switch careers, "get out of the house," supplement their income to pay for newly emerging needs, and very often, to simply continue to contribute in the workplace. Our experienced counselors are sensitive to the special needs and concerns of those over 55. They are adept at matching the skills and interests of these applicants with the requirements of employers--for full or part-time jobs. [If you seek employment as an in-home assistant or chore worker, you must bring two forms of identification, one of which must include a photograph (driver’s license, passport picture).
