Volunteering your personal time is a very special way to give something back to your community.

Since the very beginning of Senior Services, we have relied on volunteers to supplement the efforts of our staff. The seniors they all serve represent every segment of the Alexandria community, from the homeless to the "well housed. From those with no income to those who are financially stable. Staff and volunteers work together to provide a wide variety of services to help seniors maintain their independence and self sufficiency.

Contributions

Financial Contributions

Senior Services relies on the contributions of all segments of the community--individuals, churches, local service organizations, and local businesses--to provide essential services which preserve the independence of senior Alexandrians. Our continued success depends on the contributions we receive from those in our community.

There are many giving options available to people and organizations who would like to invest in helping seniors living in Alexandria. You can write a check or give a gift by mailing us a pledge and we can bill you in the manner that best fits your needs. Senior Services also accepts gifts of stock and property. Business organizations can make direct financial contributions or make in-kind contributions of services.

You can give through your workplace or organization with your United Way and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) contributions, payroll deductions or company matching programs. Our United Way/CFC Designation Number is 8311.

• Hire a senior through our Employment/Home Care Chore Services program
• Buy a Senior Services’ Alexandria Calendar; become a Senior Services calendar page sponsor or patron
• Make a leadership gift or purchase a ticket to the spring Gala
• Give a gift of appreciated stock or securities
• Make a gift in honor or memory of a friend or relative
• Make a gift of life insurance
• Establish a charitable gift annuity
• Make a gift and ask your employer to match it.
